"The Dark Side of the Sun" is now available as a DVD download. This allows educators to download the DVD video file (Video_TS folder) and burn copies of the DVD using any software that allows the burning of a DVD from a Video_TS folder. Examples include Sonic MyDVD, Roxio Easy CD Creator, and Roxio Toast Titanium. In order to ensure playability on the greatest number of home DVD players, we recommend using DVD-R media.

Also available for download is DVD case artwork for both DVD clamshell (the very familiar black DVD case) as well as artwork designed to fit regular CD jewel cases and slim cases. The artwork (available in pdf format) can be printed on any color printer, trimmed, folded and inserted into a DVD case.

DVD

To download "The Dark Side of the Sun" DVD (zipped archive) right-click (two button mouse) or control-click (Mac with a single button mouse) the 'Download DVD' link below. Choose 'Save link as' or 'Download linked file' from the fly-out menu. You should then be prompted to save the file to your hard drive. Be aware that the file is extremely large (973 MB) so a broadband internet connection is necessary for reasonable download times. See "Download times" below to get a rough idea of how long the download will take.

To burn a DVD, unzip the file (VIDEO_TS.zip), and using DVD burning software, drag the unzipped VIDEO_TS folder to the workspace or browse your hard drive to add the folder to the burn queue. For more specific buring instructions, please consult the manual that you received with your DVD software.

Note: Due to the large file size of the zip archive, you will need at least two Gigabytes of free hard drive space to sucessfully unzip the VIDEO_TS folder. Once unzipped, you may throw away the VIDEO_TS.zip file. Once you burn a successful DVD and have tested it in a DVD player, you can throw away the VIDEO_TS folder as you can now just make copies of the DVD as needed.

Artwork

To download the cover artwork, right-click (two button mouse) or control-click (Mac with a single button mouse) the 'Download' link next to the appropriate size to fit the DVD case you plan to use. Choose 'Save link as' or 'Download linked file' from the fly-out menu. You should then be prompted to save the file to your hard drive.
