Dark Side of the Sun

Dear Health Educator,

The Mollie Fund is pleased to provide you with our 14 minute skin cancer educational DVD, “The Dark Side of the Sun” and corresponding CD Lesson Plan. This program addresses the need for sun protection, the dangers of tanning beds and the importance of mole identification. Statistics confirm that one out of five of us will develop some form of skin cancer in our lifetime. Education is our best defense against a disease that is increasing in epidemic proportions.

The DVD is a stand alone presentation that can be infused into an ongoing health, science or physical education lesson. The Lesson Plan CD that accompanies it provides the teacher with everything to conduct the lesson. You may use it in your classroom or with large group instruction or assemblies.

We provide the materials free because we feel so strongly about young people becoming aware at an early age of the dangers of skin cancer. We trust our daughter, Mollie’s experience will provide the opportunity for you to create
this awareness among your students and motivate them to be careful.

Please feel free to share the materials with others who may use them with their students. We do encourage you to use them as soon as possible---no training is involved but we do recommend that you preview the DVD and Lesson Plan CD thoroughly to insure a professional presentation to your students.
