The Melanoma Action Coalition will host a two day meeting at the University of Pennsylvania. Details and agendas to be announced at a later date. Maggie and Jack are founding members of this organization.

Save the date for the 18th Annual Mollie’s Fund Golf Outing and Dinner fundraiser on September 27th, 2018 at the Garden City Country Club.
Signature Homes, Garden City, NY will sponsor a one mile walk to support melanoma awareness. Donations received will support the outreach and prevention programs of the Mollie Biggane Melanoma Foundation.
North Fork Country Club — Cutchogue, NY
Eastern Long Island Hospital Annual Golf Tournament at North Fork Country Club, Cutchogue, New York. Mollie’s Fun will supply sunscreen and hats for golfers.
Garden City Middle School — Garden City, NY
Garden City Middle School, 6 th Grade “Sun Safety” Program, Students will view “The Dark Side of the Sun”, a video produced by Mollie’s Fund which discusses skin cancer and Mollie’s personal battle. Dr. Ted Daly, GC Dermatology, will review with the students concepts taught in the film.
Adelphi University — Garden City, NY
Adelphi University, Skin Cancer Screening 12-2, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. Under the auspices of the Health Studies Department, Mollie’s Fund will coordinate a campus screening, and educate their student community about sun safe behaviors. Mollie’s Fund will also donate two sunscreen dispensers, they will be placed either in the locker rooms or on the fields.
Eastern Long Island Hospital — Greenport, NY
Mollie’s Fund will celebrate Nurse Appreciation week with the nursing staff of Eastern Long Island Hospital. Nurses will received re-usable “Have You Checked Your Skin Lately Bags”, sunscreen samples and special skin cancer education articles geared to support nurses in providing appropriate instructions to help prevent skin cancer.
In celebration of May Melanoma Awareness Month, Mollie’s Fund will co-sponsor with the Garden City Public School’s Health Committee skin cancer and melanoma awareness programs throughout the district. Students and parents will receive a myriad of resources that will educate them about incorporating sun safety behaviors into everyday living. The Health and Safety Committee will be posting pertinent materials that emphasize that skin cancer is preventable with suggestions for a Sun Safe Summer.
The Hampton Jitney will feature our iconic bikini PSA’s – “Odds of being attacked by a Shark – 1
in 65,000,000. Odds of developing Skin Cancer – 1 in 5” and “Odds of being struck by Lightning
– 1 in 700,000. Odds of developing Skin Cancer – 1 in 5”.
Sacred Heart Academy — Hempstead, NY
Sacred Heart Academy, Hempstead NY – Mollie’s Fund reaches out to students
to educate them about the dangers of the sun, importance of mole identification and the
necessity of staying away from tanning beds. Victoria Siegel, RN, EdD discusses with the
members of the “Women & Stem Fields Club” her research articles that stress the importance
of early detection and prevention from a nursing perspective.
